Star wars III: revenge of the commerce

Everybody has probably ever heard of the Star wars films of George Lucas. The first film was made in 1977 and is actualy the 4th part of a 6(or more)-part film. These films are made in a not chronicle order. He first started making part 4 untill 6 and 16 years later he started on parts 1 till 3.

These films became so popular that there is a whole hype about the characters and everything that has to do with these films. People dress up like it and go standing in line for days to be the first to see these movies. Some fans even go so extreme that they buy a real Darth Vader suit with even the recognising sound of his breathing included.

Many big company's know that this is a very popular films and they are using the brand of star wars to sell more of their products. Million dollar deals are made to put the logo on their products so fans and films buffs would buy it immediatly. The Belgian lotery has it's gamble game called star wars were you have to scratch the surface to see that you have won. On every packet of chips of Pringles you buy you also see the star wars character. They have a contest were you can win a trip to California were you will be trained in how to handle a lightsword. You could already see this training in an episode of Star Academy on the Belgian televisionchannel VTM. Also Quick has payed alot of money to have the logo's on their Magic Boxes and to provide every buyer of this box with a star wars figure.

In my opinion the film is so overhyped that people don't even care anymore if it's realy a good film, but they go with the crowd and spend their money on all the commercial goods that they provide and spread the word that the movie is the best they have ever seen. I hope that less commercial good films would also get the same appreciation, because they need it harder then the billion dollar company of Lucas Inc.
