House of Wax

2 Days ago the film "House of Wax" has gone in premiere. This film is the first film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and is a remake of a movie from 1953 with the same title.

The story is about some students that travel arround, and they strand in a empty city that is not located on the maps. Here they find a "House of Wax" like the Madame Tussaud's in London.
The whole museum is made out of wax and the characters look extremely real. From then off all sorts of strange things happens.

The first remarkable fact about this movie is that one of the lead roles is played by the arrogant rich daughter of the Hilton family: Paris Hilton. She has olmost no expercience in films. She only did some guestroles in movies like The Hillz and Wonderland. 2 films that are no worth seeing. She got this role because she recently became popular with her show "The simple life", the homemade pornotape and her arrogant behaviour in the celeberty society. The main reason she could play in this film is because she's fameous and it would be easy to sell the film to the market with her in it.

Not only Paris is starring in the movie, there is a whole cast of young attractive people. Another leading role is acted by Elisha Cuthbert who became fameous with the series of "24" and the movie "The girl next door". The 2 leading male roles go to Chad Michael Murray and Brian Van Holt. Chad used to be an model but he could play in some movies because of his looks. From there on he could play also in other films.

The last years it has been a hype to put random celeberities into films just to make some money out of it. In stead of producing good original films with great actors, they are letting celebrities involve in making the storyboard like Crossroads by Britney Spears and there are letting singers, models, athletes and even ordinary rich people act in it. In stead of making good movies they are ruining the film indusrty with there crap. Films get more and more commercialised by the looks or the being fameous of the actors then by the acting skills. Many low budget and starting film producers won't be able to compete with them and good films will be lost for the big public in the great offer of commercial crapmovies.

I hope that in the future quality will still be appreciated over celebrity movies and that people will notice the difference.

I haven't seen this movie and I'm not planning to. I prefer *real* horror movies instead of this (I presume) crap.
